EC Green Paper for Directive on Recognition of Professional Qualifications to be published soon

Tiedje announces that the Green Paper for the revision of the Directive on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications will be finished for the 22nd of June
Brussels, 6 June 2011/ The head of Unit of the DG Internal Market and Services, Jürgen Tiedje participated in the meeting organized on the occasion of the European Day of Liberal Professions by the European Economical and Social Committee (EESC) in Brussels. The meeting was attended by representatives of different European professional organizations.
With regards to the Directive on the recognition of professional qualifications that is currently revised by the European Commission, the head of Unit put forward the main results obtained during the public consultation carried out some months ago. Consonant with its objectives of promoting and supporting the professional practice of geology in Europe, EFG participated in this public consultation with a position paper.
Tiedje announced that it is scheduled that the Green Paper related to the revision of the Directive will be published next 22nd of June.
Within the Unit directed by Jürgen Tiedje the realization of professional cards is progressing with the intention to facilitate the mobility of professionals. According to the head of Unit “the professional cards will be something more than simple plastic cards”.
